Alexandru Marian finally finished the flamenca negra I ordered from him inspired by discussions here on the forum.
It arrived today and I'm very happy with it. Just need to find my way into the 7-Strings thing to really put its' possibilities to use.

Here you can have some information:

I saw the pictures on AM's website. Really beautiful guitar. I presume the BRW came from one billet? Interesting to see a guitar with a multi piece (sides too).

How are the Baljak tuners in usage?

Several classical guitarists have played with instruments with more than six strings. The most well-known and interesting (to me) was Narciso Yepes with his ten-string guitar produced in collaboration with Jose Ramirez III. I really like his version of Recuerdos de la Alhambra.

I have not heard of any flamenco guitarists of renown who have played instruments with more than six strings. There may have been some, but I haven't heard of them. Does anyone know of any who played with more than six strings? Perhaps Rojarosguitar will be a trailblazer with his seven-string instrument.

Bill

Thanks for your comments, everybody. The instrument is beautiful indeed, Alexandru Marian did a wonderfull job. It's still a baby, timewise, and needs some playing to fully unfold, though it's changing minute by minute when played.

Resently there was a film clip by Grischa playing a seven string flamenca specially made for him. Now, he's a wonderful player; I don't even come to terms with 6 strings, so it's more of a whim to play a seven strings, but I love the extended bottom.

Maybe I'll be able to record something any soon, at least to everybody's amusement...

best
Robert
