Several months ago there was a thread in the General Forum about the D'Oro guitar support. I have been using the Mini-Traveler for several months and give it rave reviews. The Mini-Traveler has a shorter frame than the others which seems to fit very well with my 6'2" height and the position I prefer--the "traditional" position. The nice thing is that it has a variety of frame and leather colors. I opted for the Mini-Traveler as the frame is short enough it does not need to cross the waist with suction cups on the lower and upper bouts. The front cups have a width so they touch side to side. If a narrower width is needed one can cut the edges (the D'Oro flamenco support uses cut cups). Of course suction cups are used and the usual suction cup rules apply--they do not adhere well on French Polish so a piece of contact plastic is needed. I have a piece of golpeador material on my lower bout (my guitar is French Polished) which works exceptionally well. The height of the support is a function of the distance between the set of cups (further apart for a higher lift) so if one is using this on French Polish a piece of long contact plastic is needed.

Oh. I've had no adherence problems on my French polished blanca...

I've had problems. I have to use static cling on films on my Anders blanca, the suction cups will adhere for a short while to the guitar, but soon become loose.

I am happy with the Del Oro flamenco supporter. The owner was very helpful in assessing my position with the guitar and making further suggestions.

My problem was my extra "girth" i.e. keeping the instrument close enough to my chest while playing. I also use some shelf liner(rubber) to keep the guitar from slipping on the thigh.

Playing at this mature age has been challenging but-- as a side benefit-- I have regained better use of my hands (neuropathy) and mental attention.

I use the De' Oro Flamencoloco support, works like a charm, no problem of accidental slip and dinging my guitar.
