Hi everyone,

I have studied classical guitar around six months (4 months with a teacher and 2 months by myself), but Flamenco guitar was in my heart from the beginning. I can not take lessons because of financial reasons and there is no flamenco guitar teacher here. I decided to learn it by myself. I have Juan Martin's "El Arte Flamenco de la Guitarra-1979", text only. I may consider buying another method, (or learning in other ways) if I get convinced that it is better than Juan Martin method that I have.

Thank you so much for this helpful forum.

Welcome to the foro!

If you can scrounge up the money at some point, I'd recommend taking a few Skype lessons with Ricardo Marlow (here on the forum). If you're just starting-out, a few lessons with a good teacher can ensure you're learning proper technique and not developing bad habits.

Others here may have some recommendations for beginner-oriented book/DVD instructional materials.

Good luck.
