grooves are not good IMO...and they are lowering the action too. I would have a brand new bone made and be done with it.

As a cheap guy with lots of guitars, when the saddle gets grooves I slide the whole bone off center a milimeter so the strings don't seat in those groove slots.

Maybe high tension strings would eliminate the buzzing, and then hopefully, saddle wear?

I think the problem may be the angle of the face of the saddle that the strings rest on.

In smoothing the surface, the angle may have been changed.

It should not be necessary for there to be grooves in order for the string not to buzz.

My suspicion is that the face is too nearly parallel to the soundboard and needs to be angled back more.

A shim inserted under the saddle may be necessary to give enough height for further adjustment.
