The address on the Juan Huipe label is on the same street as the shop of Arturo Huipe. I don't have Arturo's address at hand, but I vaguely recall it may be the same as that shown on Juan's label. Arturo's shop is in a good sized family compound with a spacious house near the street and a large two-story workshop and warehouse at the back. Arturo would be in his thirties now. When I visited the shop in January 2007, Arturo's father was working there. I don't remember his name, but "Juan" faintly rings a bell. In that case, Juan would be the brother of Benito, who is Arturo's uncle. I bought a cedar/cocobolo classical from Arturo. The workmanship and materials are first class. I'd say the guitar is on the borderline between a high end student instrument and a concert one--a good value for the money. But not as good a guitar as the Abel Garcia spruce/Brazilian classical I ordered on that trip and waited almost three years for--a world class guitar in every respect. RNJ
