BREAKING NEWS

A friend of mine told me about a way to get the mobile app working with Android 4.x. I will work on it ASAP. Stay tuned.

Here is the project that could make it happen :

Olivier

Sadly didn't work on my Android 4.1.2. Perhaps I broke it in a failled effort to move it to the SD card, willl try to reinstall.

@Dudnote :

I just made a test with Android 4.1.2 in the emulator. I managed to install the app + move it to the sd card and it worked.

The only issue is that when I move it back to the phone, it asks me to download the Crosswalk runtime and it shouldn't. Maybe rebooting the phone fixes this.

My advise, just to make sure (and that's a general advise regarding issues with Android apps):
1) Clear the app's data
2) Uninstall the app
3) Install it
4) Stop it if it is running
5) Move it to the sd card
6) Run it

I think moving the app while it's running is not a good choice, so I guess stopping the app before moving it is better.

Tell me...

Olivier

Thanks Olivier

I uninstalled and reinstalled and tried the app again, same message...

Perhaps the emulator is better than the real OS [:D]

We'll try to solve this in private messages, not to annoy all of the people.

By the way, if you have troubles with the app or the website, you are encouraged to let us know here :

This is awesome, but could you check the bpm count? Right now it shows a number which is 2/3 of the pulses/counts per minute. So when it displays 120 bpm, it is actually 180 pulses/counts per minute (in this convention a count/pulse is what one bulerias compas has 12 of, for example - to give you an idea of what i am referring to). This is regardless of what palo it is. So it seems it neither shows a number of counts, nor a number of beats (accented pulses), per minute. I think conventionally it would be nice to show the counts/pulses per minute, in which case you would multiply what you display now by 3/2 (i.e. by 1.5).
Thank you for your consideration.
Konstantin

Very Cool!
I was looking for something like this the other day and downloaded Dr. Compas to my Ipad.
I like this mucho better.

Hi I just downloaded your metronome!

Firstly well done, it's nicely presented and ready to use.

However two things I noticed. No Alegrias! :-(
And secondly there seems to be some inconsistency with the bpm.

The bpm that is displayed at the top isn't correct. When I crank up the dial to the top for buleria it only says it's about 115 and it's definitely going faster!
I haven't checked the others yet.

I think you should read this :

https://github.com/ElJere/aCompas/issues/8

BPM values have been fixed short time ago. The important point is that this metronome counts the BPM taking the quarter-note as a reference. Not the eighth-note.

Olivier

Thanks man. I kinda just worked out that's what was happening! :-)

Hi folks,

I just added the Alegría rhythm as it was missing.

Have a great day,

Olivier

Hello I know this is an older thread, but was wondering if you mind If I play around with the git source code you have in repo? I have been doing some web based flamenco tab engraving, and have been thinking about integrating a metronome into my engraving app. Personally I have been using a homebrew metronome that I cooked up some time ago. But I see your app has intergrated what I have been really lazy to do, "sync timing". I just used samples which I looped. As long as I used it on my own computer or over my local net it works fine, but on slow networks or over the internet it is no good.

Cheers!

@joselito_fletan - You can play with the code of course. The project is also open to contributions. We are currently 2 persons working on it. Anybody willing to help can contact me at olivier@ricordeau.org

Olivier

Thank you Olivier for the response. Will keep you up to date on my progression. Hopefully I can contribute something also.

Cheers
