kominak -> replacing bridge - questions (Apr. 29 2015 10:09:12)

Hi all,

I'm contemplating replacing the bridge on my first build - the original material was some weird rosewood, that Octopuss in Turkey sells as BRW (but it's definitely not). I have a nice slab of Madagascar RW that I'd like to use.

Questions:
1. as the top developed some 3mm dome, is it possible to make the bottom of the bridge flat and force-glue it to the top and thus reducing the dome?

2. due to some errors in the plan I was following the action is not optimal - 7.5mm at the bridge, 11mm at the soundhole. Is it possible to make super-low bridge so that the action at the bridge is around 5mm and around 9mm at the soundhole? Is the break angle the only limiting factor? (there is some clearance to work with at 12th fret - I understand the implications of lowering the action at the bridge...)

3. Any guesses as how the shape/thickness of the bridge wings impacts the sound/pulsation of the guitar?

Thanks a lot!
Martin
