some are blessed with incredible fine motor skills
seems to be no fake...just watch the clock in the background

I don't know. To be honest, I'm more impressed by fast picado, even if the notes are not played as fast as those picked in the video.

Thomas -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 27 2015 9:20:14)

well in this case you could at least be impressed by his left hand [:)]

minorthang -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 27 2015 9:23:56)

makes my segovia scale and a sultry 118 for 16ths look bad -- ill give up ! .

guess u either got it or aint

JohnWalshGuitar -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 27 2015 9:37:22)

I find this video to be far more impressive and less implausible. Human motor functions have a limited relflex speed after all, [:D]

Leñador -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 27 2015 13:34:43)

I remember there was some Brazilian competition for this and the guy did it on stage pretty damn fast.

Sr. Martins -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 27 2015 14:34:51)

That first video sounds like a midi file with a cheap sound module and some hints of sound coming from the guitar, mainly finger noise.

Ricardo -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 27 2015 15:50:04)

There are obvious digital artifacts in these fake vids...guitars don't sound like that tone wise when playing fast. Check out shawn lane playing fast stuff, that is what a real guitar sounds like at similar speeds.

He doesn't look like a fast guy so it's a fake[:)]

Thanks John, that video pretty much unveils how the fake is done....I am obviously just an all too trustful naif [:D]

chester -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 27 2015 22:27:25)

I dunno, he's moving around quite a bit to be caught in that 'mask circle' thingy.

Faking it seems like a lot of trouble to go through for a cheap homemade youtube video...

bernd -> RE: OMG.... (Apr. 29 2015 17:00:53)

It sounds crappy and static. It´s always very much easier to play up and down strokes like using a plectrum instead of playing with alternating i-m picados. The human motorics are limited to speed under the influence of long ways. The way the is using his left hand fingers show that they are quite away from the strings; very typical the little (4rth) finger. All the very fast guitarists have their fingers as close as possible to the strings. This can typically be seen very easy by countless rock guitarists. Here is an example by Michael Angelo Batio:
