Dudnote -> Flamenco violin (Apr. 26 2015 2:39:31)

I'd like to poke the collective foro brain to explore ideas about flamenco with violins. I mean "flamenco" in a very wide sense here (this is related to the "de Falla Danse Espangole" thread I just posted) - but hopefully not to the exclusion of some of the most fundamental palos.

The only strictly flamenco examples I can think of are with violin accompanying (the two vals' of Nino Miguel, Camaron's Calle Real). Do you know any violinist who took things further, stole the lime light from the traditional front men and managed to make it sound muy flamenco?

I suppose a simple sevillanas could be a good starting point. But I'm fishing here for more than just that. Any material roughly related to the idea would be really appreciated.

Lots of really disappointing stuff on YouTube, until this one - which was really too bloody obvious!

This guy's posted quite a lot - looks like I might have hit gold - playing Paco the easy way. [:D]
