At 19:30 h Manolos concert has begun. He played fully solo, so no palmeros, no percussion, no grupo, nada. Just one man and one guitar. He knows how to "design" any piece in a way to let shine his technical skills a bit through the wonderful big flower walls of authentic emotional flamenco music. The last piece in the program was a bulerías that topped all the bombastical toques. He´s an absolutely guitar monster!
The guitar he´s played is a negra by Jesús de Jimenez, a young maker from Sevilla. I´ve sat in the last seat line directly at the wall on the opposite of the stage. Any arrived clearly and clean with powerful crispy basses and cutting singing trebles, maybe a bit stronger than Granaina school.
He´s played 1 extra, but that was ok. No piece was shorter than 7 or 8 minutes. The whole concert was an emotional powerplay for anyone.
The workshop has brought another pleasant surprise. I´ll post it later.
