So I found this thread below from 5 years ago which had lots of humor, ups and downs, but never got anywhere! http://www.foroflamenco.com/tm.asp?m=124751&mpage=7&p=&tmode=1&smode=1&key= It is now 2015 and I'm guessing you may know somewhat more about these guitars and where they are built? I have returned my Cordoba (thanks to all the wonderful hints from you guys) and am looking at an Andalusian Domingo Esteso model! Has anyone played it? Do we know the Luthier and the craftsmanship?? I would have liked to get my hands on a Sanchis Carpio but cant afford that right now..[&o] Not sure about the brand all together, but this clip has one that is being played, and sounds decent.. Images are resized automatically to a maximum width of 800px

ummmm I just saw the ban on the RubenDiaz videos and figured all the videos I was looking at on Youtube for this guitar was from his channel... I think I got the answer to my question.. how I undo this thread? lol

Modelo 1928? They banging them out in large numbers or what? I looked at their website just a few days ago and thought they looked expensive for what they are.. Did you take a look at some of the websites and blogs of luthiers that post here? Many of those guys are building great guitars at competitive prices and will build you what ever you want. Why pay more for a fashion label?

The thing is, you have something to play on now. It's not satisfying but it will get you by while you learn. You can buy a fun step-up instrument and that will be nice but you'll still want a truly nice guitar. Unfortunately you'll have spent 1/3 or 1/2 the money that could have gone to get the nice one, so it will take you that much longer to get it. The really good ones are worth waiting for. Instead of finding new little faults now and then in a 'decent' guitar, a good one keeps showing you new things it can do, it'll be right there waiting for you with a new sound when you improve your technique or try something new.

all i can say is that for the quality of the tone (which sounds like plastic and is quite painful to my ears), they ask a minor fortune for these instruments...

So I'm still not sure what you guys are telling me? Buy it or don't buy it? lol jokes aside, I had a feeling that the guitar is not much of high qualities, but it is the one video of Niño Seve which fooled me. The song he played is one of the best flamenco pieces I've heard! Time to save money and play that CG171SF for now I guess [:(]

Roozbeh60, Before this thread is locked. I am probably one of the best qualified to offer you first hand advice on Andalusian guitars. I owned one several years ago. No offense to Ruben's Diaz skills as a musician or his persona but the Andalusian guitar I had was not well suited for Flamenco; 1) The bracing for the guitar was lattice bracing & the sustain was ridiculous...which meant any fast pieces the notes just all mixed together & did not sound crisp 2) The action was entirely too high more like a classical 3) Within a short period of time even though I protect it from humidity changes the fretboard developed a crack Overall the tone of the guitar was certainly not very Flamenco [8D] I decided to move on & sold the guitar & then bought I Sanchis which was a very good guitar which I eventually sold out of necessity to Rombsix who still has it I think. I had already in the mean time commissioned a guitar to be built to my specs by a Luthier on this forum named Peter Tsiorba who built an excellent guitar for me which I plan on keeping indefinitely which was also played & autograghed by Paco de Lucia in 2012. We all have free will to decide. Do your homework well & choose...but choose wisely [:D][:D]

Thanks for the reply Lorenzo! I would definitely get with one of the Luthiers on this forum for a custom made guitar at some point in the future. I just haven't tried enough Guitars yet to know what kind of Wood (Negra or Blanca) and what wood combinations for fret board, neck, etc I want and whether I want machine heads or pegs or etc. I want to try a few guitars until I know what I want in my custom built Guitar. Then I will not hesitate to get one built! I'm still young with high hopes.

latest update with Andelusion guitar: THEY SUCK....also, after purchasing and trying to use them for a while, problems arise with personal relationships, financial issues arise, physical health starts going down, talent diminishment, and worst of all "bad luck" starts following one around everywhere. Avoid.

Avoid. I thought I had the same issue with another guitar I had, but the issue seemed to follow me irrespective of the guitar.
