When I first heard this by him, I was truly mesmerized. I just learned it but using 5 finger tremolo instead. Maybe it doesn't work as well. But anyway here it is... Not 100 percent accurate but I think it's close enough.

Which means four fingers, with the "i" finger being repeated for a total of five strokes per cycle. The usual i-a-m-i "flamenco" tremolo.

Great work hombre. I like this tremolo very much too... Listen to Tornasol. That's another awesome one by him (not a tremolo though). Olé!

Awesome stuff JG!! Once again you really capture the aire very well. I hope we hear an extended tremelo version from you one day.

Thank you Ramzi for the correction. I will take a listen to the one you mentioned. Thanks again. @Dudnote: I'm glad you enjoyed it. I don't think much if any needs to be added to it but maybe JLR can find something... [:)]

Good stuff Juan!
Out of curiosity have you ever tried working on that 8 note tremolo craziness?? I think I might start working on it for fun...

Hey Lenador, I've never attempted the 8 finger or the 11 finger tremolo. Now that you mentioned it though I might give it a go.

Nice job, Juan. That's a really nice piece. What album is that from?

Quite frankly I'm not sure. I believe he dedicated this piece to el "Nino Miguel".

Seems to be more of a "single". I checked his official website... he has a studio version here:

Had the pleasure to take lessons with Luis...he's a monster player.

Great job on the tremolo!

@gbv1158: Thanks for the comment. I learned the tremolo from his concert clip. I don't know if there are tabs or music notation for it. @Neotriz: I agree with you. Jose is a great player. Thank you!

Nice. The melody reminds me of something I've heard before. If memory serves...Pan's Labyrinth.

Hmmmm I think the love version is better than the studio version, I feel the emotion more in the live version.

gbv1158 -> RE: Tremolo section of "Miedo a Morir" by Jose Luis Rodriguez (Apr. 18 2015 9:43:56)

ok .... it means that I will use your clip Juan !
....it is very clear ........I realized that I can do it!.
Thank you very much Juan, you did a great job! -

Are there enough people interesred in a "Miedo a Morir" challenge? Would it be intermediate or advanced?

Quite frankly that 8 tremolo is total insanity! My God, it's unbelievable. I suppose if it's the 8 finger tremolo it would be an advanced challenge and if it's the one I do it would be considered intermediate in my opinion.

That's kids stuff. Iam doing 8 finger tremolo even on that video I posted regarding my introduction to tremolo.

If you pay close attention you can see me using 4 fingers on my right hand AND 4 fingers on my left hand at the same time! How awesome am I? [sm=tongue.gif]

very cool! so how exactly is this termolo different from the regular flamenco tremolo?
what exactly does jose do? does he use pinky ? can someone clarify ?

p-iami-ami-ami-ami-ami-ami...

It's not a very "accurate" technique. You just do the regular tremolo of p-iami, then you continue doing ami-ami-ami as many times as you like to keep the effect going. Same thing as in here:

I think this piece is originally a longer tremolo, like Romb said.

So Juan changed it to 5 notes per cycle - Flamenco tremolo P IAMI

Since I heard your video this piece has haunted me to learn it. I have always used piami also. I am working on the piamiami now. Not easy to change but like how it sounds.
Anyway thx for sharing.

Still figuring out how to post.
