szyroki -> Greetings from Poland (Apr. 12 2015 14:13:54)

Hi there,
My name is Radek, I'm from Poland - I have played electric guitar and bass for some time. Just yesterday I traded my Seagull acoustic guitar for a flamenco guitar and I'm trying to figure this thing out. I had played a few times a classical guitar before and I had found it very enjoyable, so I decided that flamenco should be the next step for me.

My idea is to amplify my flamenco guitar, record loops and play over them at home. And, of course, practice the building blocks of flamenco with metronome and compas.

Welcome to the foro.

If you're just starting flamenco guitar, there are two things on which you should focus: 1) learning the compas structure of the different palos; and 2) learning the right-hand techniques distinctive of flamenco guitar.

Do you have a flamenco guitar teacher? If so, that's great. If you don't, there are pros who offer lessons online via Skype. Having a teacher at the outset can be really important for developing proper technique (and avoiding bad habits).
