Simon,

You are tearing my heart out!

Nice element of strong emotion you got going there. I feel it is so important to have, when playing the blues.

Play on, Brother!

IMO this is your best upload yet, Simon. Very nice playing! So what happened to the offer you had from the musician you met in the bar?

Minorthang, hate to tell you this but I can't see your video because it's private. It should be easy to fix man, in youtube you can select how to share videos, they can be completely public, share via URL or private. I normally do the share URL option so that some poor bugger searching youtube for quality flamenco doesn't end up watching me mess up some basic solea [:D]

Cheers, that put a spring in my step on the way to work today.

I pulled back until I have acquired some more knowledge and skills. Also they are on the road a lot and not around much for jamming. But I am going to a local pub scene which encourages people to meet and form bands.

That's good to know. It must be evolving organically because I don't have as much time as I did to practice, so I listen ( to SRV, Luther Allison, Albert King and Johnny Copeland) on my iPhone a lot more. Maybe it transfers like that?

The difference in your playing is dramatic. I like how you modulated with the changes in the chord progression.

So, Simon...

Was wondering how is your blues project is developing? How about an update...or many even a new video?

I for one would like to hear you wailing your P-90 gold top cranked up through your valve amp. I really like the tone of it and your great sense of phasing.

Slowed down a lot, what with work, household stuff, photography and vacation but I have started playing more often again.

I'll see what I can do with the Gold Top. Haven't got it out for a while, it's sooo heavy.

Sorry that I can´t listen and comment to the YT clip.

- it's all too easy to give up completely.

I have witnessed a number of people who ceased making music altogether. Among them even real cracks and professionals. The last time I heard of such a quit was from an aspiring youngster last week.

It not only makes me sad to think of it, but I can´t understand it either.
In guitar terms (and my subjective feeling), how can it leave anyone cold to see those six tight strings somewhere, abandoned? Taking breaks (like me currently, as weird stress won´t give me the leisure and dedication needed), yeah, but really letting it all aside ...
And all that time and passion vaporizing into nirvana?

Please, don´t anyone do that for muse´s sake.
Just saying / no pun intended. Simply scratch the thought.

Ruphus
