John O. -> Anyone have "Cuando estas bebía"? (Mar. 30 2015 16:35:34)

Hey everyone,

a singer and I will be accompanying a dance workshop and the dancer definitely wants the Letra:
"Solo cuando estas bebía
Te acuerdas tu de mi querer
Te acuerdas de mi querer ay de mi querer
Permita Dios y te bebas
Sanlucar, el puerto y jerez"

It's in "La Isabelona" from Fernando De La Morena, but the versions of this song in the internet don't include this letra!

We cannot find a recording anywhere and the dancer doesn't have one either, said to the singer "va pa jere" [:D]

If anyone here knows where a recording is please let me know or if anyone can tell me the chords then I'll at least know how the melody goes and can work it out with the singer...

Thanks in advance!
John

Found it, pretty standard Jerez...

How's your back pain hombre? [:)]

The arms - doing much better, thanks for asking! [:)]

It took about 2-3 years for the pain to go down and stay down, a lot of frustration and a lot of lost time I couldn't practice, but it forced me to slowly relearn certain techniques I was playing incorrectly with more force than necessary. I learned a lot about relaxing and precision - had no choice since strain hurt so much. In other words, my body taught me for a while [:D]

Also we invited Oscar Herrero to give a workshop here in Frankfurt, he made a very important correction to my shoulder position which nobody else ever told me about and made a world of difference!

So nowadays the arms only act up when it's time to take it easy down for a couple days...

This is good posture:

I'd have nothing to correct about this woman's posture [;)]

I can post myself showing what NOT to do! [:)]

You can tell a lot about your technique when a picture is taken when you're not looking. The photo left about 7 years ago and the one right about one year ago - no cherry-picking either, the difference is in EVERY picture. Look at that right shoulder! I'm hunched and holding my right arm up the whole time, can only rest the forearm against the edge of the guitar. Of course I practiced like this too, all day long. No wonder I started having problems.

I started with classical, when I changed to flamenco I switched legs but no teacher ever corrected my right arm...
