Looking on sound and playability, these guitars are very good for sure. This means to get very much guitar for the money, but you can´t expect a good craftsmanship. E. g. (very) small parts where the finish is not made properly, rest of glue at bars etc. Regarding to sound character there are 2 schools of construction. One is the Granada school and the other the Madrid school. Granada sound has trebles like a singing and ringing bell that beams directly into the sun while the Madrid school follows strictly the former Conde direction. The HSL guitars follow the Conde sound. Their father had worked for Conde and taught this to his sons who follow this tradition. The Conde character is based on hard trebles. If you don´t like hard trebles, than you won´t be lucky with such a guitar. The difference between 1F and 1F Extra is better wood (longer naturally dried) and therefore better sound with more sprectrum, punch and substance. Below the series of the "1" models you have to know there is a big difference in sound quality in each series. On my forum a member was looking for a 2F. Another member has offered his guitar at 950 €. The first one meant it was much too expensive. He could get a new one at this rate. He purchased it and was totally dissappointed. I have the other guitar here for checking. Instead of the other one it´s definitely a canon!
