My beloved AF25 Conde Hermanos was stolen from my house 3 days ago. If anyone comes across it please let me know! I will post some pics. Matt

koenie17 -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 21 2015 11:12:04)

So sorry to hear your guitar has been stolen.. [:@]
Where do you live? There are people from all over the world on this foro!
I suggest you keep track on the secondhand internet(e-bay, millanuncios, etc.)
Hopefully the b#@@#rd that took your Conde will post an ad there in order to sell it.
Let us know where you from and post some pics, and hopefully someone can give you some info.
Good luck mate!!!

xirdneH_imiJ -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 21 2015 13:13:48)

i think it's more likely he will try to sell it at a more obscure music store - surely you must message all of them in the area...

Ricardo -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 21 2015 13:15:19)

My cousin had a cheap classical guitar stolen from school and it was found shortly after at the local pawn shop. I would go there immediately and show them photos. That is assuming the thief has no clue what it's value is. Next will have to be Ebay etc.

Ricardo

El Kiko -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 21 2015 15:50:46)

mattconde

you should put what area you are in .. the members closer may have more chance to come across it than others//..

And remember that even a bona fide buyer (say a Pawn Shop, as Ricardo correctly suggested as a likely destination) does not take title to stolen property. Hence, if you locate it, you can start a replevin action to repossess the property. But if you tell them you are the "true" owner, by the time you get the Cops or the Court involved the Guitar will be in Sevilla!!

Edit: Sorry for your loss, I can only imagine the grief.

Miguel de Maria -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 21 2015 20:03:01)

Sorry for your loss.

A man on my street had his house burgled twice last month. An especially sad part was that he was trying to learn music and had just splurged on a bunch of instruments and learning materials. Several acoustics, a bass, a Strat, a PA, an amp, a laptop, a CD trainer, etc. They pretty much cleaned him out except for a guitar that had his family crest on it. The detective who came around the neighborhood said that if you keep the serial numbers, there's a good chance of the instruments being found at local pawn shops. Make sure to get in touch with the police with your documentation.

Joana -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 23 2015 19:11:05)

Hello Mattconde, very sorry to hear the news about your guitar. What a heartbreak that must be, I hope that you can find it very soon. And if it is gone for good, that you are blessed with another special guitar that you will enjoy and start anew.

Hi Giacomo, my question is- should we all be insuring our guitars? I am thinking that
in addition to theft, fire, water damage or other issues could cause loss or damage.
Is it best to add it to our homeowners insurance? ( I am in the USA).

Thanks for you thoughts on this issue..

sig -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 23 2015 19:21:51)

Yes, you should definitely insure it on your homeowners policy if possible. I insure my instrument on what's know as a "schedule". It's simply a rider attached to your policy that allows you to insure your valubles for a certain agreed amount. You don't typically have to worry about deductibles or actual cash valuations on a scheduled piece of property. The price can vary depending on where you live from .80 per hundred of value to over $1.25 or more. My insurer has mine listed as "professional" use as I gig occasonally with my instruments so the rate is a bit higher. At least I don't have to worry so much about paying for a new one if my beloved guitar is stolen or damaged...
Sig--

Joana -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 23 2015 20:21:02)

Thanks for the reply Sig! I will talk with my insurance agent. My guitar is for home use, not professional but I am already attached to it! [:)]

Yes absolutely, an expensive instrument deserves Insurance -although neither the value of your emotional attachment nor that painstakingly achieved perfect action will ever be restored or compensated.

I too am in the US, and the sole advice is to shop for a good policy, in terms of both price and coverage. As Sig pointed out, your valuables should be covered under your home insurance.

Also, if you use Amex when buying the instrument, the membership provides a basket of benefits which may come handy, such as replacement in case of theft within a year of the item you purchased.

mattconde -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 8:44:12)

Thanks for all the suggestions. This guitar is truly my pride and I just want to get it back. I am located in Geelong, Victoria Australia. Police are investigating the matter. I have notified all local guitar/pawn shops. I have pasted a link below which is a press release police put in the local paper.

withinity -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 10:49:31)

Hmm, if that's true what the article says about the Bugler knowing exactly what they were after I would be suspicious towards people who knew that you had that Guitar and the value of it. I.e you got robbed by someone you know.

If it does resurface i'm guessing it wont do so for a couple months at least. I am from Melbourne so will keep an eye out for it since i get email updates for used Flamenco guitars from Ebay and Gumtree.

johnnefastis -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 11:16:46)

Thats terrible,

A bit of an obvious suggestion but have you got it out on Facebook and Twitter etc. I am
sure some people here would friend / follow you and share it. I have seen a few cases
of things being found through that.

Good luck

Guest -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 15:05:40)

Horrible news
Am really sorry for you Matt

I'm in Adelaide but also will let my flamenco friends in Melbourne, Sydney and Hobart know

withinity's post also rings true in relation to the article
that is truly worrisome

Not too many condes in Australia
There is an Australian flamencos and afficianados page on facebook run by guitarist Valentino

I really hope it comes back to you

bernd -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 15:53:10)

@ mattconde

Rosette is fairly unique as far as conde goes...give us the specs...address on label, the year, the scale length etc.

that's great idea. I've seen myself some of these on facebook and they seem to help

Joana -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 21:11:44)

Hi mattconde,

Thanks for posting the article about your guitar. I am keeping you in my prayers that your guitar is found and returned to you soon. Hugs to you and yours..

keith -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 21:37:00)

mattconde--sorry to hear of your loss. i am also a watch aficionado and feel your pain in that arena as well. keep your eyes on e-bay. i just checked out the aussie e-bay and saw a couple of condes but not with your rosette.

Escribano -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 24 2015 22:12:06)

There is a foro flamenco Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/19066354312/ and Flamenco group https://www.facebook.com/groups/2210389282/ 12,000 people to keep an eye out in all.

re activated my farcebook to find the link...hope the link works???
also the australian flamenco magazine pagehttps://www.facebook.com/FlamencoAustralia

think its worth drawing more attention to the theft...ive sent some texts to a few guitarists to keep an eye out for it
at least the flamenco circles nationally will know...

mattconde -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 25 2015 5:15:41)

Thanks for all the suggestions. It is out on Facebook and has been shared by quite a few people. If anyone wants to add me and share the post my name is Matthew Senia. My profile pic is of me playing a John Bull classical guitar.

I am finding it difficult to post pics on here but the Conde is a 2000 model.

The label has the usual "Hermanos Conde" and then Felipe V No 2 Madrid and is signed Conde Hermanos

bernd -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 25 2015 7:04:38)

I also suggest to make a video containing fotos and put on Youtube.

tele -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 25 2015 10:14:04)

Pics are very important as there are many 2000 felipe v's. Just upload a pic to any photo hosting site and when writing a message here, click "image" and between the two codes add your link.

Joana -> RE: Keep an eye out for my stolen Conde (Mar. 25 2015 18:29:30)

HI Giacomo,
Thank you for your reply. My insurance agent has taken care of adding it to
my homeowners insurance. This is my only guitar. I am an angel [&:] , keeping spending in check. That said,
temptations [:@] still present, especially Flamenco items ( currently lost in the
sea of bata de cola selections). [:)] Hoping to be elegant in the dance studio and avoid the Orthopedic office.

I am on Vincente Amigo's list, and there was a notice he is in Paris tomorrow.
Hope your schedule is behaving and you have or will catch up to his concert!

Thank you, Joana. I am afraid I jinxed my hopes to attend his concert in Bologna, Italy, as I had to fly to Paris on the very day of his concert (I was in Europe for Milan and Paris fashion week, so I had no room to negotiate my schedule).

Now I am back in the US, left to watch whatever I may find on YouTube... [:(]

I love Vicente Amigo. Even at times when I may have lost interest or excitement for Flamenco, I have never grown tired of his music and his playing.
