slowhand9 -> Felipe Conde FP14N or Valeriano Bernal Al Alba? (Mar. 19 2015 5:08:18)

Hello,

Im going to buy my first flamenco and have shortened down the list to :
Felipe Conde FP14N
Valeriano Bernal - Al Alba 50th Anniversary Negra
Ramirez FL2 Palosanto

Would really appreciate all observations/remarks about the above models. Which is a better buy?
which has a truer tone?
which as better playability?
which has better resale value?

would be great to hear for all, specially people who have played the above models.

Im travelling to Madrid on work in mid April for 2 days. would also highly welcome any addresses to stores for used instruments.

Hope you can help me out make my decision soon!

I played this Conde model and the one I played was a truly awful guitar.

I'd lean towards the Bernal from the three guitars you mentioned.

probably hit or miss with these lower end models...try before buy. I played FC26 and FC25 in spain last summer, both were fantastic.

For that kind of money, you could have a very good luthier made guitar (and maybe have some money left over), from me or one of the other luthiers on this forum.

But the ones you suggest are safe bets as long as you choose carefully. In Madrid you will find some poor guitars, especially in the Conde shops so be careful. Take your time, and revisit to try several times before committing.
Good luck

I totally agree with krichards. My dream is still a negra by Anders

although i didnt play flamenco then i did have a ramirez FL2 it was average at best- just like any mass produced instrument take off the lable it did really have its own identity ,

if you buy a handmade guitar from the above mentioned or anyone im sure it be much better if the price is ok for you .

but a must i guess if you can play before you buy i just bought another instrument and couldnt play it before i bought it its hard and not ideal

THanks for the suggestions.
I was wondering if anyone here can give me further feedback on the AL Alba (50th Anniversary) and the Conde FP15N please?
