Miguel de Maria -> 2 degrees from Esteban (Dec. 30 2005 4:17:05)

Last night, I went to a party one of my entertainment agents threw (no, he didn't ask me to play!). It actually turned out to be fun, and I met a violin player named Alan Aymes who is an acquaintance of mine from gigging together a couple of times. We got to talking for some reason about the ubiquitous Esteban. It turns out that Alan used to be Esteban's violin player. He also taught Esteban's daughter how to play.

Alan said that the whole experience could be summed up by the first night. The keyboard player was showing him the ropes, and said, "Okay, now Esteban's going to do this long introduction [verbal or musical, I'm not sure], and then we kick it off." The keyboard player then left to use the restroom. He had a book in his hand.

Esteban did his thing, and eventually the keyboard player showed up, with a spring in his step no doubt, and the band played!

I like the recent QVC appearances from Estaban and his group. It is evident that they are not playing as everyone is doing something different and out of sync, but the music is together. [:)]

I have to hand it to Estaban as there is a great potential for him to get others interested in music.

I see Esteban is now selling Gieco insurance.... I hear he is teaching the Gieco lizard to play.....................................might be an improvement..........

For the Lizard or for Estaban? [:D]

Anything for a buck! [:)]
