He played a Lazarides negra on his last album and most of the live performances I've seen he's using it as well.

That's not bad. The picado at 1:32 was pretty weak, though. I hope he cleans that up for the album.

That's top writing and playing.
I love the feel he creates.
Picado isn't important he did not fall out of compás so who cares?
the remate was insane, he knows how to build up the energy. That's 100000000 times more important than a good picado technique.

Edsart is exremely picky about picado. I am sure he will solve this one on time[;)]
@Dudnote, i do not know what he used to record this.

That's a joke, right?

I'm not one of those who thinks picado's everything. But if you're going to use it on an album, then your technique should be top notch. The same goes for arpeggio, tremolo, etc. In the op's clip, the picado sticks out like a sore thumb. It's weak compared to everything else. If that's indicative of his normal picado, then he should leave that brief picado run out. It hurts the composition, at least for listeners who value solid technique.

No that's not a joke, his tone is great and that little picado which sounded ok to me doesn't bother me.

I kinda see what your saying Macho but I think it's an "optical illusion". You see the fingers straighten out and expect some sort of straight rapid fire picado but he doesn't do that so it looks really awkward. He does a kind of 2 note burst and then slur mixed with picado. I think if there was no video it would be unnoticeable......I mean.......it's sound is intentional from him.
