Cervantes -> Galli Genius Carbonio strings (Jan. 3 2015 3:15:05)

I have tried quite a lot of strings on my blanca.
The last set was Luthier 20 which were the best to date.
Nice clear tone, the G string had this cool almost chorus effect on my guitar.
I was playing around on my classical guitar the other day which I hardly ever play and I thought rasgueados seemed easier and sounded more musical compared to my blanca which is a bit too percussive for me.
I thought maybe the strings were a factor so I took the Galli GR90s off my classical and put them on my blanca and it helped but the the tension seemed too high for the blanca so I decided to order some GR95s which are medium tension. I installed them today and so far the results are positive, the rasgueados feel and sound better to me. Picado notes are direct but I think they lack the character of the Luthier 20s.
This may be just a characteristic of carbon strings. I am going to keep playing them and see if they change any and maybe compare to the Luthier 20's in a week or two.
I don't hear much about carbon strings being used for Flamenco and what I do hear is usually negative.

Hmm, I'm using D'Addario carbons and they're definitely MORE percussive then the regular D'Addario's. Could just be the Galli's.

I've got the new D'Addario carbons on both of my (flamenco) guitars. They're my new favorite strings by far. I can't say enough good things about them.

I've tried these in normal tension, but they were too loose for me (650 scale), altough I prefer lighter tension. I liked the feel a lot, but they were buzzing a bit, and were much less in volume and projection than let's say common D'addarios...

I've ordered their flamenco set in hard tension, and will give them a try....let You know the results
