quote:
ORIGINAL: edguerin And happy día de Los Reyes Magos ... When I first went to Mexico with my parents or grandfather, you never saw Santa Claus nor a Christmas tree. Years later, when I started traveling in Mexico on my own, you never saw Santa Claus, a Christmas tree, or a woman wearing trousers. Presents were brought by the Three Kings on January 6. When we first took the kids to Mexico more than 40 years ago, Santa and trees were beginning to make inroads, but there were guys dressed up like the Three Kings in the Alameda in Mexico City. Kids could have their picture taken with them for a small fee. My three year old son would have nothing whatsoever to do with a bunch of ill-shaven bums dressed up in bathrobes! RNJ
