Nalkas -> Which guitar should be my first flamenco guitar? (max 1100 Euros) (Dec. 1 2014 19:39:46)

I still have not purchased a guitar, I was supposed to go to spain this upcoming christmas but that is not going to happen. Seems my only option is to order my first flamenco guitar online.

Im thinking about this one http://www.guitarfromspain.com/en/electro-acoustic-flamenco-guitars/261-camps-sp6fe-electro-acoustic-flamenco-guitar.html#/options-standard_model_with_cedar_top Is it any good? does anyone have any experiences with it?

My maximum roof budget is 1100 euros, are there any pieces of gold at this price range?

Electronics is not prior one, the sound and the build quality is, although if all of these three are possible that would be interesting to me.

Oh and the guitar will be shipped to Sweden

Cheers! :) /Nalkas

Forget the electronics for a first guitar.

For that money, I would get a Bernal. Try Ramón Ruiz in the UK at http://www.fiestaflamenca.com/bernal_guitars.htm He imports them from Spain and has a selection. The Prodigio, for example, will keep you busy for years but I would have no problem with the used Sapely on offer for £450. Everyone likes my Bernal student guitar, including two luthiers I respect a lot. I put some Schaller tuners on it... nut and saddle were swapped out for bone. Easy jobs.

Ramón is also a very, very good flamenco guitarist and teacher so he knows what he is talking about.

I agree...I owned a student Bernal and it was a "real" flamenco guitar. Light, loud, Good setup and beautiful tone. Great for accompaniment and solo.

The Prodigio sounds interesting indeed, but does he ship to other countries?
I've been checking him out and you are right, he is very talented. And the guitar seems really great.

You can always ask him. I don't see why not as they come in from Spain, so I would assume he will have a box for it [:D]
