I have just made excellent experience with La Bella 2001 Light Tension set. Easy on the fingers, fantastic sound, excellent intonation.

It's the first set ever where I find the original g-string better than a carbon replacement of similar tension; usually I rush to replace the g string, but here I returned back to the original one.

I have been using those for some time and think they are excellent too.

The flamenco ones with black trebles or the classical ones?

I quite like the flamenco ones, although I go for high tension with these as even the high tension set are lower tension than many other brands' normal tension.

I have had only the classical in my string box and I'm not sure what the difference aould actually be apart from the color.

Do you think the colored trebles sound different? In which way?

They always do. Less harmonics, drier sound.

i use to use la bella 2001 classical medium strings but have switched to 427 trebles and 820 basses. i like the 820 basses a lot more than the 2001 basses--more depth to them and they seem to last a little longer. the 427 trebles seem to have a more flamenco tone to them and it could very well be they are the same string as the 820's but without color. the tension for the 427 and 2001 classical medium tension and the 820 series are the same for each string according to la bella.

Hi,
A couple of years ago I had bought a Set of LA BELLA 2001 Classical Guitar Strings EXTRA HARD TENSION and put them 2 weeks ago on my vintage Japanese classical guitar ASTURIAS Model no. 500 by Masaru Matano (1978) to test them.
The sound is not bad at all, the trebles have a good sustain, not comparable to the amazing sustain of the AQUILA SUGAR strings, but it's more than OK! Furthermore they project well and the bass strings are powerful.
As I was pleased with the sound, I recorded last Saturday 2 videos with these strings and uploaded them on youtube:

What do you think about the sound? Are these strings are still produced in the USA and available in Europe?
Cheers
