Michael I fill the pores on the neck and elsewhere with pumice, which is the oldschool way. And the neck, afterwards, I finish with 0000 steelwool in order to give it a semi mate feel, which is very comfortable for the left hand. Not filling the pores on the neck is a bit "cheap" (and a lot faster) Loukat. A soft cloth should do the most. If it gets greasy, you can use white spirit. and you can polish with vinyl cleaner, silicone free car polish and some special violin products. IMHO, the prettyest is to let the FP mature and then it gets this silky shine that looks classy compared to high gloss plastic lacquers.
