Escribano -> El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 22 2014 14:37:46)

The sale of my DVD made with Anders, has done enough to raise funds for the upkeep of the forum over the years, so it is time to retire it to YouTube for any residual advertising proceeds and for posterity. I now move on to make another film.

I hope you enjoy the journey that Anders and I took whilst living in Granada Province.

Originally shot in Standard Definition, so it will playback up to 480p.

Part One

Part Two

Thank you so much for making this available!

frhout -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 22 2014 18:58:28)

This video is genuinely one of a kind. I really enjoy the DVD which I watch and re-watch from time to time to have a better idea how my guitar was made. It's pure pleasure.

Escribano -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 22 2014 19:28:24)

Thanks for the kind words Francis, it deserves a wider audience and fewer people buy DVDs anymore. Let's hope the ads bring in a little cash for the kitty towards another film.

El Kiko -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 23 2014 0:54:39)

is there any way you could aire it on T.V. ?, sometimes some channels like 4 , maybe looking for one off things to put on , albeit an abridged version ,, .. but they would pay , and most if the work is already done ....
or you already been there...?

Would be great but it does not conform to the technical requirements of most channels, which usually specify more expensive cameras, but with the rise of YouTube material, it might be possible.

Hey ho, everything ends up on TV or YouTube, sooner or later. It was on sale as a DVD for six years and your purchase has helped us keep this forum going, so thank you!

Anders Eliasson -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 24 2014 7:45:32)

I think it would have been correct if you had asked me first!!!!

After all, I´m the bastard babbling along in the video. Its ok that you have uploaded it, but a bit of respect please. I dont like being treated like that. And very few people do. And you yourself less. OK!

Escribano -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 24 2014 8:00:57)

I have sent you a PM.

Anders Eliasson -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 24 2014 8:23:31)

I have responded. No worries [;)]

Ricardo -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 24 2014 15:48:50)

awesome, thanks!

Ricardo

Escribano -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 24 2014 16:18:46)

Got it, thanks Anders. Your babbling seems very popular. It has notched up 1,800 viewing hours in just two days.

Leñador -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 24 2014 19:17:13)

Very kind both of you.
Love it!
Only watched part one so far and realize I still don't have the patients necessary to build a guitar. I'll revisit the idea again in 10 years or so lol You luthiers are incredible.

beno -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 24 2014 19:55:50)

Thank You both, respect!

spain45 -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 26 2014 9:51:10)

Great addition to my collection . EL Guitarreroooooooooo love it .

jmb -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 28 2014 10:22:41)

Wow!. There is not a so good and great documentary about guitar making in spanish. it is full of epicurean moments and stripped of direct marketing mechanisms. I seems more a documentary about how an sculpture is carried out by the artist.

I recommend you subtitles in Spanish for a better dissemination (and income)

Really, congratulations!

Escribano -> RE: El Guitarrero (now with subtitles) (Nov. 28 2014 15:03:42)

Thanks for your kind words. Anders is a great sculptor.

I wrote a small program today to load the original Spanish subtitles into YouTube. So I would appreciate it if people could check that they are visible when you click on the gear wheel or CC/Subtitles at the bottom.

Anders Eliasson -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Nov. 29 2014 8:20:59)

It works for me.

dto.

Ricardo -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Dec. 8 2014 16:53:29)

I was just curious if you still have any cutting room floor extras that were omitted. For example I missed some details such as the bridge and the rosette getting made and glued on etc. Just wondering if you had any insteresting things you cut out for time that you might be able to put up?

Escribano -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Dec. 8 2014 17:06:18)

There were elements that either Anders didn't want filmed or that were carried out when I wasn't available. Sometimes they just got done when the weather was right and I wasn't at hand. We didn't really have a shooting script [8|]

I do have the original footage, so I will look through it for anything else that was not included.

Jurriaan -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Dec. 8 2014 22:17:40)

How cool! I'm just dying to see this. I wish I had the skill and patience to build such beautiful instruments. Btw, I'm saving up for an Anders negra.

Anders Eliasson -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Dec. 9 2014 7:49:21)

Ricardo, I have over the years shared more or less all my secrets when it comes to building what I consider to be a good flamenco guitar. Both here and on my blog, but I have a few trade secrets. One of them is my rosette and another, my inlayed soundhole.
I have seen rosettes that reminded a bit of mine, but not the same way and the inlayed soundport, I have yet to se another do.

beno -> RE: El Guitarrero is now on YouTube (Jan. 5 2015 21:56:49)

I finally had time to watch the whole thing, and wanted to thank You both again.
It's just so simple and pure, I totally loved it!
