Sendero thanks for picking up on that. I’ll drop you an email on my simple approach to recording. (a mic and a dell – sound familiar)

What I like about the Farrucas is that a “no natural rhythm “ animal like me can make it sound ok with just a couple of easy chords and some simple falsetas. The part I’m struggling with is keeping time during transition between say a rhythm and a falseta part. I’m using a Juan Martin example “Solos level 1” and some stuff Tom (he of CA) was kind enough to send me (his Farrucas handbook) as a base (plus a little invented tremelo because I'm determined to crack that technique even though as a beginner it is porobably not a great idea). I’m alone for the next three days so I’m determined to record and post something. After that I will be in Madrid for 13 days celebrating new year and los reyes so it’s not all bad.

At the moment I’m teacher-less so any simple examples I can lay my hands on hopefully, played often enough, will drill it in to the old brain box. (Guess your not ever in the UK??[:D][:D])

During the last 45 years I have had some great teachers, and played professionally for well known dancers and singers from Spain. I still perform from time to time in public but I play more often for families – our own and people from Spain.

To me the most important aspect of flamenco is playing with the proper feeling and emotion. You know when you have attained that when a flamenco from Spain tells you so. The flash, glitz, fast picados and over amplified sound do not interest me.

The simplest approach to flamenco done correctly is outstanding in comparison to poorly done music meant to attract those that know nothing about flamenco.

By the way my wife is from Peru and her family is from Zaragoza, Spain. Being trained in baile y cante my wife is my greatest critic! Next Friday we celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary.

Sam presumably the tremelo is a sort of continuous movement? I tried playing it slow and it goes all over the place but a natural rhythm (not over fast) seems to be easier to maintain. I guess being iamipiami ... it cannot be a perfect continuous movement but it feels that way.

Must own up to staying away from the open on the B at the moment.
