I played the pedragosa first...nothing even close to the high quality sound of the JPF. The scale on the one I have is a normal 660, doesn't feel big or awkward at all. Sobrinos de esteso 670 is way bigger scale. The body is quite deep however on the JFP, and the basses are noticeably deep as well. I guess with such radical concept nobody wanted to copy this thing except Pedragosa? Odd cuz I think they sound great.
