aarongreen -> flat sawn cypress needed (Sep. 30 2014 0:44:45)

Hi Guys Karl Franks (my restoration partner) and I are involved in a rather extensive restoration of a cypress Vicente Arias guitar. Among the multitude of issues that we are dealing with is that one of the sides in the lower bought had been shattered years ago and reassembled by a person of good intent but not much skill. The thickness was reduced on top of that and is now about .5mm. The pieces form a jigsaw of ancient epoxy like glue, filth and the odd pieces of cypress…. The back and sides are skew to flat, very yellowish/brown Spanish cypress. We are looking to do a partial graft and then double the side at that point to bring it to the thickness of the rest of the side. Any of you guys in the U.S have any old lower quality Spanish cypress that you'd care to part with? We're going hot and heavy on this one and are in need. I have plenty of great cypress, but alas, nothing that matches the less than ideally cut set used on this guitar. Happy to buy outright or trade a set…whatever works. Thank you! Aaron
