Recorded probably in Japan in 1986. Long tremolo falseta included.

I like it. Enjoy! [:)]

That's the most impressive playing I've heard from a Japanese guy, I wonder if he can be seen on other videos. [;)]

He even looks like such a bad-ass. Olé! [:D]

Too much repetition, IMO. But badass 'stache indeed [:D]

If you like that kind of playing get the Paco del Gastor playing for Fernanda and Bernarda on the Ocora label.

But other than the tremolo being loo long, he is a great player. His technique is robust and does not resort to shortcuts.

His thumbnail curves down over the tip of his thumb like Sabicas's did, though Sabicas's was much shorter. I used to wonder whether Sabicas's grew that way, or if he boiled it or something.[;)]

Unique nails were those of the great Nino Ricardo. His nails grew in such a way that they curved upward. This affected his playing style in order to accommodate the strange shape of his nails, but it certainly didn't diminish the beauty of his playing.

Years ago I read an interview with Niño Ricardo. When the subject of nails came up, he reportedly held up his right hand and announced, "!Uñas de papel" ["paper nails"]. When asked whether he did anything to them, he replied, "Pegamento." [glue]. In those pre-Superglue days, "pegamento" meant what we called "airplane glue", composed mainly of nitrocellulose and acetone.

I remember using some about 15 years ago when I broke a nail working on my boat. Breaking a nail is a very rare occurrence for me. I didn't have any silk around for the repair.

I can't find a decent photo of it on the net, but Mario Escudero's "Fiesta Flamenca" album had a good shot of his right hand, featuring a generous application of pegamento.
