Great!
Do you know anything about the singer?

I like how he overdoes it with the falsetas at the beginning before the cantaor begins, and the cantaor looks at the camera & gives it a look of "when the hell is this guy going to shut up & let me start singing already?" [:D]

Great playing, but I don't like how they mixed the recording. [8D]

Wonderful! Solea is 'cante'.

On questión concerning solea from a begginer:

Does anybody know a method, treatise, essay or video explaining how 'cante' has to be perfomed? I mean, something about how 'cante' fits in 'compás'.

Best regards.

If you understand Spanish the tomaflamenco YouTube channel is great.

There are so many ways to do it, and it is normally learned "on the job". It depends on the specific cante. I have seen transcriptions of cante and articles describing specific performances, but no general essay...it's just too complicated a topic. I admit there is the "orthodox" way to sing for baile but again I still get into arguements about it with aficionados. Check this site especially "classifications of solea and siguiriya" sectons:

The thing that jumped out about the accompaniment to me was how he does the F chord early almost every time. It's like ending a compas of alegrias on 9 1/2 every time. Someone who doesn't know would think that's where the chord is supposed to be instead of it being a variation. Not a big deal, but I found it distracting. I was always wondering if he was going to do it again, and he usually did.

Funny to see a long hair ginger singing cante. Him and Jason McGuire should tour! "Los Wikingos de Flamenco" [:D]
