I would like to learn a bit about rondeña, what is the basic tonality when played without cejilla(I suppose it's some kind of phrygian) and is it possible to play it without re-tuning the guitar, if I remember correctly, the Low E string goes to D and the G goes to F?

Any good rondeñas that I might find tabs for?

thanks

G goes to F#

I have read that Ramon Montoya was the originator of the guitar solo sin compás, "Rondeña". (It´s different from rondeñas, a fandango.)

Montoya's version spends a lot of time sounding like it's in D--sixth string tuned down to D, third string to F#, a lot of D-major chords, but it eventually resolves to C# in several places, so you could say it's in C# Phrygian.

There's an accurate transcription of Montoya's Rondeña, and several other Montoya pieces in Alain Faucher's Affedis book, "Arte Clásico Flamenco," but it's in standard notation, not tab.
