avimuno -> 2013 Vicente Carillo (ex Antonio Rey) (Jul. 28 2014 11:25:35)

Hello everyone, I find myself having to sell my recently acquired 2013 Vicente Carillo negra. This particular guitar used to belong to Antonio Rey. I bought it from Jordi from Solera Flamenco in January. I have barely played it and condition is very good, except for a few nail marks right underneath the golpeador and a dent on the back. Here are the characteristics of this instrument: - German Spruce top, - Madagascar Rosewood back and sides, - 660mm scale, - 53mm nut width, - 58mm string spacing at the bridge, - finished in lacquer. It is still a fairly new guitar which still has a lot of opening up to do, but it already sounds very good. It is typical of the Madrid school... thick focussed midrange, with a big voice and very snappy trebles. Pulsation is medium-high, and to be honest, this guitar requires a fair bit of strength and good technique to really get the best out of. It does sound very flamenco, rasgeados roar from it and alzapuas sound very very good. Being a negra, it has a somewhat warmer tone than a blanca and, although it definitely has a very flamenco character, it can also venture into playing bossa nova or jazz. It comes with Antonio's signature on the back as well as with a certificate of authenticity signed by Antonio. I tried uploading some pictures, but they are too big and cannot fit here for some reason. Here's a link to this exact guitar on Jordi's site, with a video of Antonio playing it a bit. Just drop me a PM with your email address if you're interested and I'll forward you some pictures. http://www.flamencoguitarsforsale.net/es/guitarras-flamencas/usadas/carrillo-rey-negra-2013.html Asking price is €2,600 (around USD 3,500). I am located in Paris, so shipping will be somewhat expensive for the Americas, but do email me and I'll try to get the best possible quote, and I might even try to bear some of the shipping costs if you're really interested in this guitar. Thank you for looking!
