Vince -> White specks in Rosewood (Jun. 21 2014 17:31:39)

I have to refinish a Rosewood Guitar with French Polish (high gloss).
The Customer came to me with this no grain filled Classical Guitar.
The grain was terrible filled with white specks!
I think it is a kind of polish compound but I am not sure.
I try to remove the specks with Naphtha before grain filling with Pumice, but the specks become visible again after the solvent is evaporate.
So I have tried to sand the finish away but the specks can't be removed.
The neck is affected too.

What can I do?

I have solved the problem.
I use some dark brown crayon stick and go lightly over the areas with the white spots. After this I have grain filled with alcohol and pumice!

I've taken a very small wire brush and alcohol and worked the spots out and then refinished the back. If you work it carefully, you will not remove much of the finish.
