Watching this video about making a copy of a special kind of Viking sword kept reminding me of making guitars. To me making a guitar is very spiritual. Although nothing is ever perfect, it always seems like several miracles happen along the way, including the end result. The making of this sword involves starting from rocks to make the steel, 11 hours of hammering to make the basic shape, doing inlay with a different metal, polishing for days...and many of the steps are risky and could cause all of the work so far to be lost (Sound familiar?). I think you will enjoy it.
