Well, what do you know? I have discovered that there IS a place in my hometown that is exactly what I am looking for. I have lived here many years but didn't know about it. It was just bought out by its customers last year and is now a premium place for musicians to hang out. It even has an open mike evening, so I will be checking it out this week.
