I'd like to share two of my masters videos. I think that Tony is a real monster player, but it's not flamenco so I tought I post it to the Off topic session...
His technique is out of this world. Let me know what You think!

WOW!
What is that music?? His right hand technique is super compact, looks like it's super efficient. Thanks for sharing that was incredible!

amigo -> RE: Antal Pusztai (May 19 2014 20:59:38)

Amazing player!!!!!!
Pusztai is a classical and jazz guitarist!!

Escribano -> RE: Antal Pusztai (May 19 2014 21:12:38)

The jazz number is so sublime. Thanks for sharing.

Arash -> RE: Antal Pusztai (May 20 2014 3:41:38)

He is amazing.
Thanks.

Wayne Brown -> RE: Antal Pusztai (May 20 2014 23:11:58)

Glad You liked it!

Actually those 2 pieces are mixture of His own compositions, and some new ideas.
The freakin' thing is that no matter what You give to His hands, a classical guitar, an electric, or a big-bodied jazz guitar, He can play almost everything, classical, jazz, bossa, blues whatever...I try to push Him towards flamenco [:D]
Anyway He's a good friend of mine and an extraordinary talent, I'm proud of Him.
He had the honour to play toether with some BIG names like Pat Matheny, George Benson, Ralph Turner and so... He won several international classical guitar contests, and the Montreaux Jazz competition at the same time.

He made these videos for a contest, I'll let Yo know how it worked out!

Leñador -> RE: Antal Pusztai (May 21 2014 22:57:22)

His own compositions???? I love 'em! Jazz is usually to jazzy for me and classical is usually too weak. Those were just perfect, exactly what my ear wanted to hear. It's one thing to be a technical monster but he's got great writing abilities too. Wow, super impressive..........

Erik van Goch -> RE: Antal Pusztai (May 22 2014 22:25:40)

That's some great playing

rombsix -> RE: Antal Pusztai (May 23 2014 2:56:24)

Super advanced player obviously but at times the music is too much for me to handle...

At first I felt the same.
He actually has an album "Wonderland" out, that I got from Him. I've listened to it a LOT, and I just get used, then addicted to it [:D]

OK at the risk of sounding mean......

This guy plays strongly and smoothly.

But at a certain point I just started to hear a relentless procession of missed opportunities to characterise the music with colour and dynamics.

Not that this observation helps me out much with my jealousy though.

D.

Just to let everybody know: Tony won not just the classical category of the Six String Theory competition, but won the grand prize over all category as well!

I couldn't be prouder and happier! [:D]

He will perform together with Lee Ritenour at the Montreaux Jazz festival july 4th-8th.
