I am trying to incorporate some of your kind suggestions about leaving more space, less notes etc.

I'm working on chord modulations as well, but this is a sound sample of a lead style with the new, improved Nocaster. See here for more info.

Really wanted to see how it sounded after the mods and new setup. Low volume through a Fender tube amp.

Is that the the late nite bues band or the early morning blues band?

Its a good style. I miss some changes in dynamics. Some attacs. Listen to how most good black blues singers, male and female go up and down in dynamics. You stay low most of the time. A long break and a attack with the face of BB king would be nice.
And tell the other guitarist, to relax. He´s pushing to much. You sound like 5 in the morning after a couple of whiskey on the rocks playing for 2 couples dancing around very slowly, while he sounds like he´s just had a line of amphetamin.

Keep it up. Its refreshening to hear.
Btw, do you know about a record called 'blues jam at chess' ?
Its with the old Fleetwood Mac and with some of the blues players and singers that was connected to the blues record company Chess. I know you like Peter Green, so you might be interested. When I was a big kid, it was one of my favorite albums.

Yeah, in retrospect the backing track doesn't sit well with me. I know what you mean about dynamics and will look for a BB King track to try. I'll also check out "Blues jam at Chess".

I think you´ll love the 2 CD´s.

I just started listening to them again. First time in 35 years or so. Its still great. I can remember everything after so many years. We had it on one of these big B&O taperecorders and it was winded back and forth MANY times.
Its a nice mix of Britblues and Chicago Blues. And Peter Green is playing some of his best. Purebred blues and not so much what he did in his solo carreer.

You might find this article helpful on EQ settings for the "sweet spot" on a Fender amp.
Control your volume by your guitar. You get the harmonic distortion with clarity.

BB King rents amps where ever he performances and always sounds fabulous. He knows how to find the sweet spot and I always wonder how he does it. I find the Magic 6 formula is always a good start to getting those dynamic blues tones.

Here´s a good song to learn some blues, and also dynamics. Using the volume knob on the guitar is a very powerful tool for changing the guitar sound, as Rick suggests.

Thanks for the link. I was forced to use a very low volume for that one but I get the idea and normally use volume and tone controls a lot on the guitar.
