I read somewhere that a damp cloth should be used.
In the Ramirez shop in Madrid they use a special guitar/voilin cleaner product in an aerosol (didn't catch its name)

Any ideas if natural products (like bees wax) could do any harm?
And is french polish on my Anders less robust than the nitro of my Alhambra and thus need something special?

Its nothing serious, just a build up of grease/smears, and a dry duster just seems to push it around.

Guess from the lack of response cleaning is not too important - you machos[:D][:D]

But here I found an article that taught me something although no mention of bees wax:

Hope someone finds it interesting. Back to my polishing [:)]

I use Planet Waves Mirror Finish spray. I think there is also a special cleaner for ebony.

There are really people who clean the guitar?? [:D]
Watch the fretbord of manolo sanlucars guitar on the carlos saura video during the alegrias. The neck is very hilly coth of 1kg dirt from his fingers..

Well, only once in a while, just the grease.

Hi Nigel.

Basically: STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING WITH SILICONE IN IT. And if it doesn't say it's silicone free, then don't use it. Stewmac (www.stewmac.com) sell a silicon free polish. On french polished guitars, it's best to do nothing, but if the guitar gets a bit greasy, you can use a soft cloth with a BIT of white spirit on it in order to dissolve the grease.

Nice polishing.... (BTW, it's better to use the time playing[8D])

If I played it any more it would wear out[:)] Working on an Alegrias for Xmas. Said I would post something so get the ear muffs ready.

Do y fr I don't want you to think I'm a housewife but my Anders is still new and perfect. I guess I spend too long starring at it (thats the drag of working from home - you don't need an excuse to stop and play every half hour or so[:D]
