Escribano -> My journey into the blues #3 Just got a break (May 9 2014 20:49:55)

I have an intro with these guys from the wife of their drummer, whom I met tonight. They are based in my town. When I said I wanted to work up to a R&B band with some edge in a couple of years, I got an invite to their studio for a chat. It's a few hundred yards up the road from me and I have to say, I really like their stuff. The wife is a singer/guitarist in another band and might like to do something for the Internet with her husband and friends. That makes more sense than trying to find/create a pub band. I can still play bass like a demon, so I will do that, if nothing else.

I introduced myself when I heard them talking about Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac (with much reverance) in the pub. How weird is that? We got on very well indeed.

Might be in way over my head but hey, I got signed to Cherry Red once and bought Iggy Pop a few drinks. We even got our first 12" banned by the BBC.

Here they are. Wish me luck! Man, I need to stop living my ill-spent youth [:D]

You can certainly keep up with them musically but how's your wardrobe of skinny jeans???? [:D]

Go for it. It could be fun.

I once, in a period was a special guest star in a party disco band (singing and mouth organ) and that was fun.
70th style beige suits with trumpet trousers, groupies and girls screaming. The best of all was that I was only a special guest star. meaning just 2 - 3 songs and then out backstage with the groupies... Very little rehearsal lots of fun.
