Ryan Rockmore
Originally from New York, Ryan Rockmore has spent the past two years living in Sevilla and Madrid prior to moving to London. Training under figures such as Carmen Ledesma, Merche Esmeralda, La Choni, Miguel Vargas, and Alfonso Losa, he gained an immense appreciation for and understanding of 'baile al cante' and 'la escuela sevillana'. Ryan has performed in spaces through Spain, London, and New York with both established and up-and-coming artists in the flamenco scene. He also fuses practice with theory, whilst he completes an MA in Dance Anthropology at the University of Roehampton, by researching the intersections of flamenco dance and gender performance.

La Joaquina
Founder member, choreographer and director of Flamenco Express. She has worked with Christina Hoyos, Paco Peña and others in Madrid, Tokyo, New York, Montreal, Toronto, Paris and throughout Europe.

‘..utterly riveting variations of firecracker beats…tumultuous fervour ..indelible gracefulness.’
The Stage

Chris Clavo
A founder member and musical director of Flamenco Express, he began playing the guitar at fourteen years old and later studied with flamenco maestros Carlos Heredia, Diego Amaya and Pepe Justicia. He has performed throughout Britain and Europe with Flamenco Express as well as touring with flamenco jazz virtuoso Eduardo Niebla and Iraqi pop sensation Jassim.
"Two amazing guitar solos from Chris Clavo and Jesus Alvarez made string instruments sing with impossible precision. "
Staffordshire Post.

Javier Macías
From San Roque (Cadiz) into a family in which this flamenco is way of life, Javier learned his art from a very early age.
He has performed in Sevilla, Granada and Jerez de la Frontera since he was a child. And has performed extensively in Europe, participating in different projects including Café de Silverio, Trovador, La Tipica Flamenco Company and with The Royal Shakespeare Company in Cardenio.

“This feisty company delivers the finest in flamenco, plus sizzling soloist La Joaquina” Time Out

“What was surprising, however, was the sheer power and energy displayed by the dancers during this vibrant celebration of Spanish culture. Forget the sterile, regimented flamenco so often served up to tourists: this was the real thing, and to say that it packed a punch is an understatement” South Wales Evening Post.
