Just came across a method to strengthen your (right) hand muscles (actually mainly the muscles of your lower arm) which is especially useful for alzapua, pulgar and abanico, in which the movement comes mainly from the wrist joint. It's effective for other techniques as well, if to a lesser degree:

Do the appropriate movements slowly and deliberately UNDER WATER; the resistance of the water is just enough to train your muscles without straining them.

I love the "do the appropriate movements slowly and deliberate" part but to those who have an aversion to water i like to add it can also be very affective to just airplay (with full focus on applying natural/applicable movements) combined with body/string interactions of various kinds (focussing on relaxation and perfect biomechanics, keeping those natural moves natural when meeting various kinds of string resistance from almost zero to full force contact). I also advise to repeat the appropriate moves in your head a lot as well, training your brain and nerves rather then your muscles. You'll be amazed how powerful an arm mass based thump stroke can be when you use gravity only and apply zero muscle power (it was the hardest thing Paco ever asked me to do). I must admit it took me years before i could keep a pei triplet rasgueado rolling on for a wile without getting tired. Not sure it was lack of strength or strength that kept me from succeeding :-)
