Good tip: thanks. I guess Germans feel about their beer the way the French feel about food: it’s got to be right, and they don’t want anyone mucking with it or they’ll riot [:)]

There are around 1300 breweries here and most abide by the law.

Wait a second....so if you just drink beer and dont eat, you wont get fat??
Why did no-one explain this to me 20 years ago. Think of all the cash I wasted shopping for groceries when i could have just bought beer!!

BTW- funniest thread here for ages.

yep, I just wished too much alcohol would besides supressing fat oxidation also surpress brain oxidation instead of accelerating it.

Talking about brain oxidation, just now I'm enjoying a cheap but very good italian red wine which is called Monte Pietroso "PRIMITIVO"

Yes, their fries and toast are great, it's understandable. Too bad they don't really make any other food. [:D]

Wonderbread anyone ?

Chips are Belgian.

Pain Perdu has got to be as old as ancient Egypt.

Fortified bread and cereals are as new as malnutrition in obese children.

You mean Frites Belgique ? Blame the Euro.

I miss fresh potato wedges roasted in olive oil.

What I don't get are those cracker you get in Andalusia, like eating chalk. Might as well give you packing peanuts.
