Really enjoying ''a traves de Ti'' by Antonio Rey at the moment.
I don't think there is a track on this album that I don't like.
Haven't listened to this album for a few months prior to picking up the disc for the car journey to work a couple of days ago.
Who is listening to what at the moment?

Best

"En El Albeniz" with Jose Menese and Enrique de Melchor. I picked it up last month and it's been a steady presence since.

Aretium -> RE: current favourite listen (Mar. 23 2014 22:37:30)

Same as Mark, it feels like Paco's compositions get better with every listen.

Me too. Relistening to Paco and bemoaning the shallowness of my appreciation and taking him for granted. Teatro Real mostly.

Not flamenco but very gypsy I have been enjoying a recording of Angelo Debarre and Moreno Winterstein called Romano Baschepen which swings like crazy.

This ones got Paco Tomatito and Camaron on it so it should appease (almost) everyone. [;)]

i've been listening to kendrick lamar's EP "good kid maad city" for the past few weeks.

its got great flow, production values, and amazing lyrics. some hooks are a little corny though.

it's the album that should've won best rap album of 2013

Parrilla de Jerez? Most recordings with La Paquera, the best. If you mean the younger Parrilla he plays for Zambo a couple tracks on Gloria Bendita, the solea por buleria was especially nice. If you mean the violin, pretty much everything with a flamenco violin going on.

Guest -> RE: current favourite listen (Mar. 24 2014 11:47:08)

'Fluye'
Jose Quevedo Bolita

Been on regular playlist
Along with
'Una Guitarra En Granada'
Juan Habichuela

But an endless amount to listen to at present

There was a 30 hour return drive a few weeks back
A lot of time in the car
iPod loaded with Paco

I think it's Manuel Parilla. Somewhere in his 30s-40s. Still alive now.
I've seen his name as Manuel Parilla de Jerez. But should be different from the Parilla de Jerez, who is from a long time ago yeah?

Cheers for the answer. I'll try to search for Gloria Bendita.

Cheers

He has played on lots besides the Zambo recording, sometimes only one or a few tracks:

Fernando de la Morena - Jerez de la Morena

Esperanza Fernandez (eponymous)

Guadiana - Cuando el Rio Sunea

Potito - El Ultimo Cantaor

he plays on 8 of the 10 tracks on: Enrique Soto Sordera - Herencia

and he has a solo track on Fragua Futura

EDIT: I forgot, also on Joaquin Cortés cd titled "Gypsy Passion", "Gypsy Passion Band" or "Pasión Gitana"

I checked my discs
He is on Picasso en Mis Ojos by Diego Cigala.
I think I have all of Estrella Morente's and he's not on them.
I have 3 cd's of Macanita and he's not on them, I think he's on "Sólo por eso" cd which I don't have.
I have 3 cd's of Miguel Poveda and he's not on them, but he's listed on "arteSano" cd which I don't have.

EDIT I have 5 Vicente Soto discs but Manuel is not on them.
But I looked it up, Manuel played on Vicente Soto Sordera - "Entre dos mundos" and "eStar alegre"
