Dear Flamenco Lovers, Concert Goers and Guitar Enthusiasts

If you are looking for a great live music event this summer, look no further than the Leeds Flamenco Festival 2014.

The Leeds Flamenco Festival is an annual national festival organised by flamenco guitarist Samuel Moore on behalf of The Instituto Cervantes (Spain's international ambassador for Spanish Language and Culture) and Arts@Trinity.

This year the festival, on Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of June, features performances and workshops from some of the top flamenco musicians in the world including a solo guitar recital and music workshop by the internationally acclaimed flamenco guitar virtuoso Juan Martin!

Tickets for the festival are already selling fast so it is recommended to book in advance if you would like to guarantee a seat. Tickets can be purchased on line at the Arts@Trinity website:

Leeds Flamenco Festival (Day One)
Friday 6th June 2014

The Leeds Flamenco Festival is an annual festival organized by Arts@Trinity and Instituto Cervantes, and hosted at Holy Trinity Church Leeds. This year, Leeds Flamenco Festival offers you a stunning lineup of the best flamenco artists in the UK as well as a solo performance and guitar workshop by the internationally acclaimed flamenco guitar legend Juan Martin.

Instituto Cervantes Flamenco Dance & Guitar Performances:

The opening event of the Leeds Flamenco Festival 2014 is the Instituto Cervantes Flamenco Dance and Guitar Performances. Instituto Cervantes is Spain’s international ambassador for Spanish language and culture and this festival event will feature flamenco dance and guitar showcases from the institute’s students as well as a solo guitar recital by the nationally respected concert recitalist Samuel Moore (Instituto Cervantes’s Course Leader For Flamenco Guitar and co-founder of the Leeds Flamenco Festival). The night will also feature the dance ensemble Flamenco Diez, featuring; dancer Luisa Galan, singer Ana Luisa, and accompanists Mike Holland and Tenly Martin.

Ticket Information

Standard Ticket: £5 (seating capacity: 170)

This ticket provides the ticket holder access to the event and seating in the main isle of the church. (Please note, close proximity to the stage is strictly on a first come first served basis on the night of the performance and cannot be reserved prior to the event).

Economy Ticket: £3 (standing capacity 120)

This ticket provides the ticket holder access to the event and to stand in either the left of right side stalls of the church. (Please note, economy tickets have a restricted view of the stage and no seating).

Juan Martin Evening Solo Concert:

The headline performance of the Leeds Flamenco Festival 2014 is a solo flamenco guitar recital by the internationally acclaimed flamenco guitarist Juan Martin. Come and see one of the worlds most celebrated exponents of the flamenco art form in the interment setting of Holy Trinity Church.

Ticket Information

Deluxe Ticket: £20 (maximum seating capacity: 18)

This ticket provides the ticket holder access to the event and available seating on the front two rows of the church. These seats offer the best view in the house, right in front of the stage. (Please note the front two rows of the church are exclusively reserved for deluxe ticket holders).

Standard Ticket: £15 (maximum capacity 150)

This ticket provides the ticket holder access to the event and seating in the main isle of the church. Close proximity to the stage is strictly on a first come first served basis on the night of the performance and cannot be reserved prior to the event unless you upgrade to a deluxe ticket. (Please note, the front two rows of the church are exclusively reserved for deluxe ticket holders. If you wish to sit on the front two rows, please ensure you purchase a deluxe ticket, a standard ticket will not allow you access to these seats).

Economy Ticket: £12.50 (maximum capacity 125)

This ticket provides the ticket holder access to the event and to stand in either the left of right isle of the church. (Please note, economy tickets have a restricted view of the stage and no seating).

Additional Events

Saturday 7th June 2014

A Flamenco Guitar Workshop with Juan Martin:

In addition to his evening solo performance, Juan Martin will also be teaching a two hour flamenco guitar workshop from 11:00am-1:00pm on Saturday the 7th of June. If you’re a guitarist interested in studying with Juan, one of the most prominent flamenco artists of the 21st centaury, don’t miss out on this unique opportunity! Also, if you’re a member of the public and wish to learn more about flamenco, or a guitarist who simply wishes to come and observe, why not purchase our Non-Active Participant ticket that allows you access to the church to observe the event and listen to what Juan has to say about flamenco. (Please note, unless you have purchased either an active participant or non-active observer ticket, you will not be allowed access to the church during the time of the workshop).

Ticket Information

Active Participant Ticket: £20 (maximum number 20)

This ticket provides the ticket holder access to the Juan Martin flamenco guitar workshop as an active participant, where they will learn from one of the great modern masters of the flamenco guitar. (Please note, you will be required to bring your own instrument for this workshop and it is advisable to have an understanding of flamenco in order to participate as this workshop will be aimed at intermediate-advanced players not beginners.)

Non-Active Observer Ticket: £10 (maximum number 200)

This ticket allows the ticket holder access to the Juan Martin flamenco guitar workshop as a non-active observer. This ticket is perfect for members of the public who are interested in hearing what Juan has to say about flamenco and guitarists wishing to learn from Juan but have little or no understanding of flamenco. (Please note, this ticket will not permit you to take part in the actual workshop itself, it only allows you to observe the workshop in progress. If you whish to take part in the workshop actively, you must purchase the active participant ticket, not the non-active observer ticket.)
