Squash, of course, originated in the UK and has since spread around the world (thanks, in part, to the British Empire!). In fact a couple of Brits, Nick Mathew and James Wilstrop, are among the top squash players in the world today, and about 10 years ago another Brit, Peter Nichol, was on top for several years. During the 1980s and 1990s Pakistanis dominated the top levels of squash, but the last few years have seen the Egyptians dominating. A Malaysian, Nicole David, has been the world's No. 1 women's squash player for the last seven years. Like tennis, squash is truly international. My regret is that an American has yet to break into the top level of squash. We'll just have to keep trying. Cheers, Bill
