The fandangos forms are all all distinguished by vocal melody. The chord structure is the same for all the versions. Some singers toss in special chords from time to time which you have to catch like with any cante. Some singers used to do fandangos with the compas of solea, a tuff one but one of my favorites. Again fandango chord structure is always the same. There are styles from huelva that go to A major chord and Aminor that stand out from the rest. A singer named "Sevillano" has a nice libre version of that structure with his own melody. So for intents and purpose guitar wise, yes you doing the same things.
There are many detail though of playing the in between singing parts when you for example play por medio LIBRE vs the bouncy huelva style. Best thing is copy the maestros on record.
