I really don't want to open a can of worms again, but...
I'm on Facebook and a mexican luthier marked me as friend. He's name is Gerardo Escobedo. He recently posted 2 pictures that say more than words..

I'm sure that bridge and the headstock's shape are familiar to a lot of people [:D][:D]

el carbonero -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 5 2014 20:30:07)

I don't want to buy this guitar, no way. If You don't understand the topic, do a search on the foro for Andalusian guitars...

Gerardo Escobedo
he has some guitars for sale at La Sonanta with the same bridge, but different headstock, I guess the ones he makes with this headstock are made for sale in "Andalusia"

Yes, but those cannot be sold for 10,000 USD....

....again, this is not against Escobedo...

withinity -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 7 2014 8:46:38)

wow that guy is a grade A con artist legit.

withinity -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 7 2014 17:51:12)

Now Diego del Morao is promoting these guitars. Hmm

Leñador -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 7 2014 17:57:11)

He said "It's original, and......I like it." Sounds very much like politeness to me....it's original, lol that's nice for ugly :)

withinity -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 7 2014 18:13:28)

Indeed, i didn't say he was enthusiastic about it , but the fact is he let himself be recorded while playing it.

My guess is he knows this is going to go on the Internet, and Ruben knows how big of an impact a Name can have on an individual due to the symbolic nature of the way we view things.

Arash -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 8 2014 6:03:39)

"Its original.." (with sunglasses on...in a 30 sec. vid)...

google translator says: "This guitar sucks, now turn off the camera, unlock the door and and let me out Ruben"

mark74 -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 8 2014 6:42:53)

Hearing Diego play those strings reminds me of my favorite town in Cadiz, Mexico City

are you sure that's Diego?
Has he lost weight?
I'm wondering if the "Diego" is also a fake, that would fit with the rest of the set up....[8|]

Leñador -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 8 2014 15:44:00)

I like how the subtitles added "very much" even though he didn't say it lol

Im thinking of going out for some tapas tonight. Maybe get some cool ranch dorrito taco supremes, some bean burritos with guacamole, some mild sauce and maybe a few tintos of modelo extra

hahaha , i wouldn't put it past him.

beno -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 9 2014 11:46:14)

no way Diego would turn up on a juerga or concert with a guitar as ugly as that!
LOL

davidheis_24 -> RE: ...that bridge... (Mar. 16 2014 11:12:06)

hahahaha hilarious! money and free/discounted guitars, the biggest endorsement is if they actually play it regularly in their concerts
anyway..
can someone correct me but at around 3:20 mins when paco starts to be filmed back on the beach....take a close look......headstock...could it be?

could be - I think there's a photo somewhere of Ruben with Paco and one of these guitars.
He probably gave, or tried to give, Paco one of these guitars, probably tried to film him playing it like he did with Antonio Rey.
(But Paco was too smart, all Ruben managed to get was a photo, and Paco's lawyers stopped him from using it)
So Paco probably had one of these guitars.....
Did Paco play it on any recordings? No.
Did Paco play it in any concerts? No.
Did he keep it in a case like all his other great guitars? No.
What did he do with it?
used it as his "beater" - messed around with it on the beach, tried surfing on it, eventually put it on the fire and cooked some fish over it - all it was good for[:D][:D][:D]
