Perteneciente a la casa de Los Sordera, su cante era adorado por su familia y por los aficionados que tuvieron la oportunidad de escucharla hasta el punto que, según cuenta José Maria Castaño en su libro 'De Jerez y sus cantes', el propio José Monge Cruz 'Camarón de la Isla' se enamoró de la voz de Tía María Bala y no quería salir de la casa de Los Sordera en Madrid ni para ir al tablao.
