Mark2 -> RE: about ramirez guitar ?? (Mar. 5 2014 17:44:39)

I have a Ramirez 1a blanca from the 70's. It is an old school sounding guitar to me. I also have a conde-not a top model, and by comparison the conde is brighter sounding and more suitable for dance accompaniment. I rarely used the Ramirez to play for dance-it is more suited to solo playing and has a darker sound, more like a negra. It has more sustain and a warmer tone than the conde, but the conde is easier to play rasquedos and sounds better for that. I wouldn't buy a Ramirez for dance based on my experience, but who knows, I'm sure there are plenty of good ones out there. The quality of the Ramirez workmanship is far better than the conde I have, but it's not an apples to apples comparison, as the conde is possibly a Valencia made one. I'm listening to the PdL vid of him playing rondena and my guitar sounds a lot like that. Too bad I don't.

thanks .

I have a conde , i think it's one of the most powerfull guitar in the world.

I wonder if the new generation of ramirez can support the comparaison in volume.
